The Department of Health (DOH) said yesterday it will start a year-round campaign to totally ban the “individual use of firecrackers” after it registered a total of 1,021 firecracker and stray bullet-related injuries when it closed the surveillance for its “Aksyon: Injury Paputok Reduction” campaign.

I don't believe that the Philippines is the only country in the world that fire crackers are sold for individual use (I'm tempted to use individual consumption). You can see from movies that other than the Philippines there are other Asian countries that lit their own fire crackers beside their house. As opposed to grand fireworks display that other countries show in welcoming new year.

You should come to Kentucky or TN in the US, 4th of July, Christmas, New Year's Eve...if they could afford it, they'd probably shoot off fireworks Every holiday...and there are children and adults that get hurt here too.

There is just Something about fireworks that people are fascinated by.
